The Foo Birds are a vocal-led 5-piece nu-soul / RnB band, based in the UK. Their unique musical partnership has been evolving for over a decade. Shameless genre-collectors, their journey began with funk-infused dancefloor fillers and has evolved into the uplifting, body-moving nu-soul and RnB they are known for today. With lyrics that embrace the joys and vulnerabilities of being human in an ever-changing world, their music seamlessly blends elements of jazz, soul, pop, folk & RnB.

Their high-energy performances, characterised by Kate Lister’s powerful vocals and the band's tight, in-the-pocket grooves, have garnered an international following, with successful tours to both Belgium & Croatia. On recent UK tours, the Foo Birds have filled out prestigious venues like Pizza Express (London), Band on the Wall (Manchester), Peggy’s Skylight (Nottingham) and The Jazz Bar (Edinburgh). Festival appearances include headline slots at Kelburn Garden Party, Fife Jazz Festival & Tinderbox Fest and they have been celebrated on Jazz FM, Worldwide FM & BBC Radio.

Previous releases feature collaborations with Robin Mullarkey (Jacob Collier, Natalie Williams), Harry Fausing Smith (Tom Misch, MRCY), Jonny Murray (Mr Jukes) & Robin Wynn Evans (Sam Brown, Manic Street Preachers) and the band are currently working on a new EP with producer Chris Hyson (Jordan Rakei, Frida Touray), set for release later this year.
